85 TDs, senators miss committee meetings since recess

But who missed the most?

EIGHTY-FIVE TDs AND senators have missed at least one committee meeting since the Dáil began its recess on 8 July.

The list of absences, compiled by RTÉ news, shows that those who missed three meetings include Fianna Fáil TDs Darragh O’Brien, Thomas Byrne, and Niall Blaney; Fine Gael’s Lucinda Creighton and Frank Feighan; and Labour’s Joanna Tuffy.

Sinn Féin senator Pearse Doherty, Independent senator Ronan Mullen, and Labour senator Dominic Hannigan, each missed four committee meetings over the three weeks.

But topping the list was Fianna Fáil TD Beverley Flynn with six absences since the recess began. Flynn missed four Oireachtas European Affairs meetings and two Health committee sessions.

There have been 23 committee meetings since the recess began.
