Two due in court over €1.5m cannabis haul

The two men were arrested yesterday by gardaí targeting a criminal gang based in Tallaght, south Dublin.

TWO MEN ARRESTED in Dublin in connection with the seizure of €1.5 million worth of cannabis are due in court this morning charged in connection with the investigation.

The men were arrested yesterday as part of an ongoing operation targeting the activities of a Tallaght-based criminal gang. Two vehicles were stopped by gardaí at a business park in Blanchardstown and the men – one in his 30s and the other in his 40s – were arrested at the scene.

The cannabis herb, with an estimated street value of €1.5 million was also seized at the scene.

The two men will appear before the criminal courts at Parkgate Street later this morning.

Yesterday gardaí said these types of operations are critical in targeting criminal gangs and helping to protect communities from the “devastating impact of drugs”.
