Fishermen find body off Mayo coast

The remains have not yet been identified.

A BODY WAS found by local fishermen off the coast of Mayo earlier this evening.

The discovery was made in Lacken Bay, with emergency services alerted at around 5.30pm.

The RNLI, coastguard, and gardaí are currently attending the scene.

The remains have not yet been identified, gardaí said.

A search had been taking place over the past two weeks in the area for a fisherman who went missing after falling over on September 11.
