Would you rather read the book or watch the show/film first?

As more books make it to the screen, audiences often have a decision to make.

AUTHOR MARIAN KEYES has expressed her delight at the upcoming TV adaptation of her much-loved Walsh sisters books.

The series, set to air later this month, is not the only Keyes story making the leap from page to screen. Last week, Netflix revealed the cast for the adaptation of Keyes’ bestselling novel Grown Ups.

Book-to-screen adaptations have become increasingly popular in recent years, particularly for Irish writers. Sally Rooney’s Normal People and Conversations with Friends proved highly popular on TV, while Disney+ adapted Patrick Radden Keefe’s acclaimed book Say Nothing into an award-winning limited series.

With that in mind, when a new book-to-screen adaptation is announced, audiences unfamiliar with the story have the choice of reading the book first or watching it straight away.

So, tell us: Would you rather read the book or watch the show/film first?
