Over 14kg of cannabis resin discovered at Rosslare after alert from sniffer dog

Vehicle was searched following an indication from ‘Alfie’ and routine profiling, according to the Revenue Commissioners.

THE REVENUE COMMISSIONERS’ Customs Service has seized 14.4 kg of cannabis resin at Rosslare Europort in Co Wexford today following an alert from a sniffer dog.

The cannabis resin, with an estimated street value of €86,400, was discovered in a car that was coming off of the ferry from France.

On foot of routine profiling and an indication from a Revenue sniffer dog named Alfie, the car was scanned by x-ray and the drugs were discovered concealed in the car.

A British man in his 40s was arrested in connection with the drug seizure and taken to Wexford Garda Station.
