Dublin store worker injured in tussle with armed thief

A 32-year-old man is in court this morning charged in connection with the attempted robbery.

A 32-YEAR-OLD man is in court this morning charged in connection with an attempted robbery at a shop in Clondalkin in which a staff member was injured.

The incident occurred at the shop on Castle Crescent yesterday afternoon. A man wearing a balaclava entered the shop and threatened staff, demanding money.

An altercation between the man and one of the staff members ensued and the 57-year-old worker sustained an injury to his hand. He was later treated by a local doctor.

The man was arrested at the scene.
