There's a new Daniel and Majella O'Donnell exhibition at Newbridge's Museum of Style Icons

The couple attended the launch of the exhibition this morning.

DANIEL O’DONNELL and his wife Majella have launched a new exhibition on their lives in Co Kildare.

The exhibition, ‘Daniel and Majella O’Donnell: Music, Style and Memories’, opened today at the Museum of Style Icons at Newbridge Silverware.

It showcases a collection of stage costumes and personal memorabilia, including the couple’s outfits from their wedding in 2002.

The exhibits will now form part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Style Icons.

Fans of the couple gathered at the launch this morning, where the 64-year-old singer also performed some of his biggest hits and sang with his wife.

Speaking at the event, the Donegal native said that it was a “great privilege” to be the focus of an exhibition.

“Many of the outfits and items in the exhibition hold very special memories for me, so it’s lovely to see them brought together in one place. I’m delighted that fans will have the chance to visit and hopefully enjoy looking back at some of those moments with us.”

Majella said that it was “very special” that people will get to see some of the items that mean so much to them.

“Particularly our wedding outfits. They bring back wonderful memories, and it’s also nice for the fans that have supported Daniel over the years to see some of the memories they would have been part of,” she said.

“We’re both really looking forward to meeting everyone and spending some time together on the day.”

Newbridge Silverware CEO William Doyle said that Daniel and Majella give so much to their fans and to their community without a thought for themselves, thanking them “for lending us their special garments and for agreeing to meet their many fans here in Newbridge”.

The Musuem of Style Icons, which opened in 2006, contains a unique collection of fashion and memorabilia from some of the most famous people in the world.

Some of the items on display were worn by Princess Grace of Monaco, Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Princess Diana and The Beatles.
