Donegal gardaí appeal for witnesses after death of 72-year-old man in car crash

The collision occurred at the end of last month.

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING for witnesses to a road crash that occurred in Donegal last month, as a man injured in the collision died on Friday.

The crash occurred on the Lifford to Letterkenny road on 30 August at 3.15pm. Two cars were involved in the collision.

The driver of one, a 72-year-old man who was the sole occupant, was taken to Letterkenny University Hopsital with serious injuries. Gardaí confirmed today that he died of his injuries on Friday.

The other car was driven by a man in his early 30s and had two passengers – both children under seven years. They did not sustain injuries in the crash.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have been on the road between 3pm and 3.15pm to contact them in Letterkenny on 074 9167100, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
