IT’S JUST ONE month since David Bowie died, and last night his son Duncan Jones shared some poignant news.

At Christmas, he had told his father he was to become a grandfather.

Jones and his wife, photographer Rodene Jones, are expecting a baby this summer:

Rodene was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 32, and had a double mastectomy. She and her husband had embryos created for if they had issues conceiving children.

Rodene told Pop Sugar that after her diagnosis  she had tested positive for the BRCA1 gene, which means women are four to five times more likely to contract breast and ovarian cancers.

David Bowie died in January. He had been receiving treatment for cancer.

Duncan Jones was born in 1971 and was known as Zowie in his early years. His mother, Angie Barnett, was married to David Bowie until 1980.
