THE GARDA TRAFFIC unit has long made use of motorcycles for their work.
Yesterday at Garda Headquarters a pair of gardaí were put through their paces on the Honda Deauvilles.
The Honda Deauville bikes can weigh up to 350 kilos with gear on, but can still reach speeds of up to 200km per hour.
Training for the unit usually takes a few months and requires the passing of a number of exams.
