GARDAÍ in Co Louth have opened an investigation into a double stabbing incident in the centre of Drogheda this afternoon.
Two people – a man and a woman, both of whom are in their late 30s – were seriously injured in the incident, which occurred shortly after 2pm in an apartment complex on Dyer Street in the centre of the town, alongside the River Boyne.
The two were brought to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in the town, where the male remains in a critical condition. The woman’s condition has been described as stable.
No arrests have yet been made, though the scene remains sealed off for investigation.
