GARDAÍ HAVE SEIZED items linked to alleged cock fighting in Tipperary Town.
Gardaí today conducted a multi-agency operation involving Tipperary County Council, the NSPCA, National Parks and Wildlife Service, and the Department of Agriculture.
The operation was part of ongoing investigations into suspected animal welfare incidents in Tipperary Town.
A premises was searched where cock fighting events have allegedly taken place.
A large number of bird cages were recovered at the residence, along with further evidence of cock fighting including a vast array of controlled medication, steroids, antibiotics and imported illegal substances.
All seized items will be subject to further forensic and technical analysis.
No animals were recovered at the premises and no arrests have been made at this time.
A garda spokesperson said investigations are ongoing and gardaí continue to liaise with the Department of Agriculture regarding this matter.
