stormont Sinn Féin delivers a press conference following a meeting with Boris Johnson.

  • Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary has told staff that as many as 900 jobs are at risk including pilots and cabin crew.
  • National homeless figures have dipped slightly but remain above 10,000 for the fifth month in a row. 
  • Over 9,400 hospital patients were forced to wait without a bed in emergency departments in July this year – the highest number ever recorded for the month, according to the INMO
  • Tusla has identified dozens of childcare facilities across the country where “critical” levels of non-compliance are occurring.
  • More than 140 residents in Limerick are objecting to the development of a student accommodation, which would accommodate 300 students, from going ahead.

#BORIS Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald has met with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, and said she warned him “to make sure he’s not the DUP’s gofer”.

#GUNS Police in Chicago have said that two women who were killed  in a drive-by shooting on Friday evening in the south side of the city were not the intended targets in the attack.

#DUBAI The estranged wife of the ruler of Dubai has applied for a UK forced marriage protection order relating to their children, a London court has heard.

She might be running as a Democrat candidate in the US election 2020 race but self-help guru Marianne Williamson is making headlines as the ‘liberal Donald Trump’ with a real shot at toppling the president on polling day next year. 

She counts Oprah Winfrey as one of her past clients, and at a debate of Democratic candidates last night she appears to have come out on top as the most searched candidate across almost all American states.
