A new taskforce has been launched by the Public Expenditure Minister to identify blockages in housing delivery.
PUBLIC EXPENDITURE MINISTER Jack Chambers has said there is “too much tolerance” of housing objections.
Chambers said that he has seen instances of residential developments being stopped due to objections based on aesthetic concerns.
He added that many young people have told him that long-term residents often attempt to halt developments on the basis of the “character of an area”, which he said can “block” goals of increased housing supply.
