Irish girl, six, kidnapped in Cyprus

A SIX-YEAR-OLD IRISH girl has been abducted in Cyprus, where she lives with her mother.

May Assad Monaghan, originally from Swords, Co Dublin, is believed to have gone missing near her home in Limassol, the second-largest city on the Mediterranean island, on Wednesday.

TheJournal.ie understands that the focus of the police investigation is a person known to May.

A spokesperson for the Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed: “We’re aware of the case and are providing consular assistance.”
