13-YEAR-OLD JORDAN CASEY is to become the youngest entrepreneur ever to speak at this year’s TiEcon conference in California later this month.
The Waterford programmer who runs his own games company, Casey Games, is set to address over 4,000 delegates on the topic “Things I learned the hard way as a young CEO”.
His company has produced four games so far and has achieved 1,500 downloads.
The two-day conference, held in Santa Clara in California, will also hear speakers from LinkedIn, Microsoft, Twitter and Amazon.
Casey, who recently sought funding on the Junior Dragons’ Den, said that he hoped that programming would soon be taught in schools.
Jordan’s parents, Clyde and Louise, said that they were thankful of the support that their son had received.
“Waterford City Council, Enterprise Ireland and Waterford City Enterprise Board are all supporting our trip to the States,” said his father. “We really could not have gone without their help.” he said.
