This afternoon, officers have expanded their effort to include an industrial park close to the park where the 24-year-old’s handbag was found.
Some initial reports about the circumstances of Karen’s disappearance have been discounted by police in Glasgow in recent days. New details of the student’s movements on the night she went missing have also come to light, as the investigation gathers pace.

Sunday 4am
After spending time with the man – who has spoken to police, and is not being treated as a suspect – Karen is believed to have left his Dorchester Avenue flat at around 4am. She was planning to walk back to Hill Street, around four miles away.
Later on Sunday

Monday
Police launch a public appeal for help tracing Karen. Meanwhile, a grey car is seen is seen on country roads to the north-west of Glasgow - between Milngavie and Drymen. Police later say they are keen to trace the car.
Tuesday
Karen’s handbag is found in Dawsholm Park – near Dorchester Avenue. Karen’s parents appear at a news conference, telling the media they are “desperate” and appealing for anyone with information to get in contact.
Today
After searching all night at the park – police expand their search to a nearby industrial estate, and a back lane and woods next to a canal at Dorchester Avenue.
