THE LABOUR PARTY HAS ANNOUNCED its seven nominations for the Seanad elections after a joint meeting of its parliamentary party and central council. The nominees are as follows: John Gilroy (Cork North Central), Jimmy Harte (Donegal North East), John Kelly (Roscommon-South Leitrim), Susan O’Keeffe (Sligo-North Leitrim), James Heffernan (Limerick), John Whelan (Laois-Offaly), and Marie Moloney (Kerry South). All bar Susan O’Keeffe and John Whelan are councillors.
