IT’S BEEN A wonderful year so far for viewing the Northern Lights – even as far “south” as Ireland.

Award-winning photographer Paul Doherty has shared two of the stunning pictures he took last night of the aurora borealis over Co Donegal. The first shows the lights dancing in the sky behind the church in Burt – the second is a twilight view of them hovering over Lough Salt, Termon, overlooking Downings.

You should take a look at Paul’s work on PaulDoherty.ie or on his Facebook page. Nice.
