Lewis Capaldi confirmed as final Electric Picnic headliner after merch slip-up

The Scottish singer will headline the opening night of the festival.

LEWIS CAPALDI HAS been confirmed as the final headliner for Electric Picnic 2026 after the news was accidentally revealed on merchandise sold at his Dublin concerts.

Festival organisers moved to announce the slot after fans spotted Capaldi’s name and the date of his Electric Picnic appearance printed on official merchandise at his Marlay Park shows on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Scottish singer will headline the opening night of the festival on Friday, 28 August.

Capaldi joins acts including Gorillaz, Fontaines D.C., CMAT, Sombr and Zara Larsson on the line-up for this year’s event in Stradbally, Co Laois.

Taking to social media, Electric Picnic organisers said: “You heard it here first (or second), Lewis Capaldi is your Friday night headliner for Electric Picnic 2026.”

The announcement completes the festival’s six-headliner bill, with Capaldi’s appearance marking a return to Stradbally after he was forced to withdraw from his scheduled 2023 performance due to health issues.

Electric Picnic returns to the Stradbally Estate from 28 to 30 August, more than 80,000 attendees expected.
