Arrest made after man (20s) dies and woman in hospital after single-vehicle M50 crash

One of the occupants, a man in his 20s, was killed in the collision which happened shortly after 1am.

A MAN IN his 20s has been arrested after another man died in a single-vehicle collision overnight in Dublin.

The collision involving a car occurred on the N2/M50 Northbound slip road at Junction 5 shortly after 1am this morning.

One of the occupants, a man in his 20s, was killed.

Another passenger, a woman in her 30s, was taken to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital where she remains in a serious condition.

A man in his 20s was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at a Garda station in the Dublin Metropolitan Region.

The body of the deceased male was removed to the morgue at Whitehall where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

A technical examination has since been conducted by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and the road is expected to reopen shortly.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.

Any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and were travelling in the area between 12:30am and 1:30am this morning are asked to make this footage available.
