Man arrested after cannabis worth €281k seized by gardaí and Revenue in Cavan town
The suspect is detained at a Garda station in the north west.
A MAN IN his 30s has been arrested following two drug seizures in Co Cavan totalling an estimated €281,000 in herbal cannabis.
Revenue officers uncovered the first haul of 6.25kg of cannabis valued at €125,000 during a search operation at a site in Cavan town yesterday.
A second search of a nearby property by a garda drugs unit in Cavan later found a further 7.8kg of suspected cannabis worth about €156,000.
The seized drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.
“Investigations are ongoing,” a garda spokesperson said.
