Man dies after car crashes in hotel car park in Co Limerick
The incident happened last night at 10pm to the scene at Lower Main Street, Rathkeale.
A MAN HAS died following a crash in a hotel car park in the town of Rathkeale, County Limerick.
It happened last night at 10pm to the scene at Lower Main Street in the town. Emergency responders found the man inside the car.
It is understand the dead man was socialising in the town earlier in the night.
Gardaí believe that at some point he drove a car into the Rathkeale Hotel car park where he crashed. Sources said a post mortem will determine if there was a medical emergency.
Gardaí sealed off the car park last night for a forensic examination.
A Garda spokeswoman has said that an investigation is underway.
“At approximately 10pm Gardaí assisted emergency services at the scene. A man, aged in his 60s was removed from the scene to University Hospital Limerick where he was pronounced deceased.
“A post mortem examination will take place in due course.
“No other injuries were reported. Investigations ongoing,” she said.
