A 30-YEAR-OLD MAN has appeared in court charged with two counts of assault.
The man, who is from Co Wexford, cannot be named for legal reasons.
The accused man was charged with assaulting a woman and a child.
Garda John Cleary gave evidence of having arrested the man and taken him to a garda station.
Evidence of charging was given to the court by Garda Olive McNamara.
She said the man made no reply to the charges.
Defence solicitor David Tarrant said there was no application for bail at this time. He applied for free legal aid.
Granting the application, the judge said he would remand the defendant in custody to appear before Wexford District Court on Tuesday next, 4 December.
