THREE PEOPLE WERE arrested in the vicinity of the Occupy Dame Street protests in Dublin last night.
It is understood that gardaí intervened after the man climbed a tree, and that several other people then became involved.
An eyewitness at the scene told TheJournal.ie that a man, who was not part of the Occupy Dame Street group, climbed a tree beside the camp.

Occupy Dame Street posted about the incident on its Facebook page earlier, saying:
Man climbed tree near Occupy Dame Street camp. Police called in to assist with the situation. Man jumped from tree, then arrested by Police. Drunken members of the public interfered with the arrest leading to further arrests. Occupy Dame Street thanks the Police for their assistance.
Gardaí confirmed that three males were brought to Pearse Street Garda Station for public order offences last night. They did not confirm whether the men were passers-by or part of the protest.
All three have now been released and proceedings will commence in due course.
