• A draft proposal will be brought before Cabinet on Tuesday by Tánaiste Simon Harris seeking to make alterations to the ‘Triple Lock’ so that a UN mandate is no longer required for Irish troops to be deployed.
• A woman has been killed after being struck by a vehicle in Tralee, Co Kerry, this morning.
• Tánaiste Simon Harris has said he is “very concerned” reports that Israel has halted the delivery of food and aid supplies into Gaza.
• Social Democrats TD Jennifer Whitmore said once again that the opposition would continue to “work together” to reject the government’s proposal to end the speaking rights debacle once and for all.

#UNITED KINGDOM: King Charles has met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy following  the latter’s attendance at a defence summit on Ukraine in London.

#THE VATICAN: Pope Francis is resting after a “peaceful night”, the Vatican has said this morning after it announced yesterday that his condition had stabilised. 

#LEADERS’ SUMMIT: The UK and France are working on a plan to increase security in Europe and put an end to the war in Ukraine, Britain’s Prime Minister Keir Starmer has said.

PARTING SHOT

THE BIGGEST NIGHT in Hollywood is just hours away.

The 97th Academy Awards will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles tonight.

The ceremony will kick off at 12am Irish time, and while there is limited Irish interest this year, US late night television host Conan O’Brien – who claims Irish-American heritage – will be hosting the awards for the very first time.
