Waterford is the setting this week where more than 2,000 players, coaches and supporters will partake in the GAA World Games.

They run from today until Friday, bringing together over 100 teams from GAA clubs across the planet to compete in hurling, camogie, Gaelic football, ladies’ Gaelic football and handball.

Seen above are the Sables Shamrocks GAA team from Zambia during a training session at CLG Na Fianna GAA Club in Glasnevin.

The Zambian team is made up of young people who have all benefited from the Sables Nua programme, which supports vulnerable children in nation’s capital Kabwe.
