Oprah Winfrey is coming to Dublin for a one-night live event

The veteran talk show host will take part in an “intimate conversation” this September, with tickets priced from €25 to €695.

OPRAH WINFREY IS set to appear in Dublin later this year for a one-night live event.

The event, titled ‘Up Close With Oprah Winfrey’, will take place on Monday 14 September in the 3Arena.

Billed as an “intimate conversation”, the evening will see Winfrey discuss her life and career in a live interview hosted by broadcaster David Meade.

A musical performance by Niall Breslin (Bressie) is also scheduled ahead of her appearance.

Organisers say the event aims to bring audiences closer to one of the world’s most recognisable media figures, known globally for The Oprah Winfrey Show, which ran for 25 years and became the highest-rated talk show in US television history.

Norma Murphy, co-founder and creative director of the Up Close With series, described Winfrey as “an inspirational compass”.

“As a child, I was mesmerised by her warmth, empathy, and energy on The Oprah Winfrey Show,” Murphy said.

“In more recent years, her conversations through ‘The Oprah Podcast’ have continued to show that same depth and reflection.

“I am so grateful that she has chosen Up Close With for her first live appearance and that we get to bring her to Dublin,” Murphy added.

Tickets for the Dublin event will range from €25 to €695, including premium and VIP options.

A pre-sale is due to open on 7 May, with general sale beginning the following day via Ticketmaster.
