Terrifying ordeal for couple robbed at gun point in their home

The incident happened at around 11pm yesterday evening.

A COUPLE HAS been made to endure a terrifying ordeal after intruders broke into their home.

This happened at a house in Ballycraigy Gardens in Newtownabbey, Co Antrim yesterday evening at around 11pm.

Two men, both wearing balaclavas and one armed with a a gun, entered their home through the back door.

They confronted the man and the woman in the home’s kitchen.

The firearm was pointed at the occupants and they were made to hand over the keys to their car.

Speaking about the incident, Detective Sergeant Colin Gray, said, “The keys were handed over and the men made off in the whtie Peugeot 308 car which was discovered on fire a short time later at Kiln Road.”

A handbag was also reported to have been stolen from the house.
