Pedestrian in her 60s in serious condition after being struck by van in Cork city

The collision happened at around 3.30pm this afternoon.

A FEMALE PEDESTRIAN has been seriously injured after being struck by a van in Cork city today. 

Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to the collision, which happened  at the junction of Anglesea Street and Anglesea Terrace in Cork city centre, at around 3.30pm.

The pedestrian, who is aged in her 60s, was taken to Cork University Hospital where she remains in a serious condition.

No other injuries were reported.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.

They are particularly appealing to any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage, and who were travelling on Anglesea Street and Anglesea Terrace between 3.15pm and 3.45pm to make this footage available to them.

Investigations are ongoing.
