Pedestrian in his 60s killed after being struck by lorry in Co Tipperary

A MAN IN his 60s was killed after being struck by a lorry in Co Tipperary yesterday afternoon.

The fatal incident happened on the L8109 road at Ardloman, Co Tipperary.

A garda spokesperson said the alarm was raised after a pedestrian was struck by a lorry at around 2.35pm.

The pedestrian, a man in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported and the scene has been technically examined.

The Health and Safety Authority and the Coroner have also been notified and gardaí say investigations are ongoing.

A spokesperson for the Health and Safety Authority said that it is aware of the fatal incident and has launched an investigation.
