17-year-old released without charge over petrol bomb attack that injured kids
The children were sitting on a sofa when the petrol bomb was thrown through their front window.
A 17-YEAR-OLD youth who was being questioned in connection with last week’s petrol bomb attack in a house in Waterford that left three children injured has been released without charge.
Gardaí confirmed that he was released last night, and that a file is to be prepared for the DPP.
Another man has already appeared in court over the attack.
An 11-year-old girl underwent surgery at the weekend for burns sustained in the incident, at a house in Ballybeg on Thursday night.
It’s understood she received the injuries protecting her one-year-old cousin from the fire. Another young child suffered from smoke inhalation.
The petrol bomb was thrown into the house in Ardmore Park, Ballybeg at around 9.20pm on Thursday.
The children were sitting on the sofa at the time when it came through the front window. Their grandmother managed to extinguish the flames with a fire extinguisher.
