What time are you having dinner?

The ‘right’ time to eat the main meal of the day is an enduring argument among Irish people.

THE HOT SCHOOL Meals programme is set to be discussed at the Oireachtas Education Committee today.

The programme, which is now operating in thousands of schools across the country, sees children provided with a hot meal from a range of options each day.

While technically lunchtime, some people also refer to the meals as school dinners. It begs the question – what time is ‘dinner time’?

It’s an enduring argument among Irish people, and can sometimes highlight an urban-rural divide on the issue.

So today we’re asking: What time do you eat your dinner?
