Electric Picnic

Look out, Stradbally, there's a bit of rain heading your way

We’re not talking flood volumes of rain but you’ll definitely need those wellies…

THOSE OF YOU heading to Electric Picnic in Stradbally this weekend will be sad to hear that you’re not likely to get much use out of those funky sunglasses you got just for the festival.

The Met Eireann rainfall radar this morning shows that the ground will be nice and wet by the time you arrive to pitch your tent, so wellies have now become essential.

There’ll be scattered showers throughout the day across the country though tonight will be mostly dry. Winds will be “moderate to fresh”.

Tomorrow promises to be a brighter but breezier day though there may be a few light showers in the morning and there may even be some brief sunny spells if all that cloud moves.

That night it will be humid and misty so if you’re in Electric Picnic, you might want to have a torch with you for getting back to your tent.

As for Sunday, it will be dry in most places across the country with light rain or drizzle in the west and north.

So, there’s no torrential rain forecast this weekend thankfully, though rain gear is advised, whether you’re at the festival or not.
