Seven killed in Texan family shooting
Police in Grapevine, Texas say that the seven appear to have been clearing away Christmas wrapping when they were shot dead.
POLICE IN TEXAS are investigating the deaths of seven people who they believe were shot dead shortly after opening their presents on Christmas Day.
The bodies were discovered at an apartment in Grapevine, Texas yesterday morning.
Although police believe the four women and three men were family members, they say that some are understood to have been visiting the residence and did not live there.
Two guns were found at the scene, Reuters reports. Police said there was no clear motive for the killings.
Grapevine police spokesman Sgt Robert Eberling told WFAA TV that a 911 emergency call was made from the apartment yesterday morning and that police and fire officers discovered the bodies when they entered the home.
He said it was an ‘open call’, meaning that 911 was dialled but no person spoke into the phone. Eberling said police procedure is to investigate all such calls.
