A 45-YEAR-OLD man who was stabbed in Dublin last night has passed away.
Gardaí are investigating the incident which occurred at North Strand in Dublin 1 at 10.45pm. The 45-year-old sustained a number of stab wounds when he was attacked by another male.
A source told TheJournal.ie that he received five stab wounds including one to the head. He received life-saving interventions on scene from Dublin Fire Brigade paramedics.
He was taken to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, where his condition was described as critical this morning. However gardaí said he died of his injuries earlier today.
Investigating gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone in the area at the time to contact them at Mountjoy Garda Station on 01 666 8600, the Garda Confidential Line 1 800 666 111 or any garda station.
