Schools closed in 12 counties and transport disrupted as Storm Barra moves north
A Status Yellow wind and rain warning is in place for the entire country until 6pm.
Storm Barra is making its way across the north west, leaving thousands without power.
Schools in 12 counties are to remain closed today - Dublin was added to the list late last night.
Local authorities in counties with no Status Orange warnings have begun clearing trees from the roads.

Storm Barra: Schools in Dublin and 11 other counties advised to remain closed
The decision was taken this afternoon following a meeting of the NDFEM.
This includes counties Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Cork, Kerry, Waterford, Limerick, Clare, Galway, Mayo and Wexford.
The advice to close also applies to third-level facilities in the affected counties.
If an individual school in other areas is deemed by school boards to be affected by the storm they can decide to close.
