Secuity alert

Suspicious item found on DART line near Dún Laoghaire

THE DART line was partially closed near Dún Laoghaire this afternoon following a security alert which suspended services between Lansdowne Road and Dalkey for a short time.

A spokesman for Irish Rail confirmed to TheJournal.ie that the alert was in place and the line was closed for about 15-20 minutes after a staff member spotted a suspect item on the rail line.

Gardaí removed the item for further assessment but when contacted this afternoon they said there was “nothing in it.”
