1. #PAISLEY: The former leader of the Democratic Unionist Party and First Minister of Northern Ireland has died at the age of 88. His wife Eileen Paisley issued a statement this afternoon on the passing of her “beloved husband”. Take a look back at some of his most high profile moments here. 

2. #PISTORIUS: Former Olympic athlete Oscar Pistorius has been found guilty of culpable homicide at his trial in South Africa. He could now face up to 15 years in prison.

3. #FRIENDS AGAIN: Taoiseach Enda Kenny and Minister for Health Leo Varadkar have seemingly put their differences aside and made up after alleged disagreements earlier in the week. 

4. #DEAL MAKER: A deal struck by Minister for Finance Michael Noonan to pay back bailout loans earlier than expected could potentially save the country €1.5 billion over the next five years.

5. #JOBBRIDGE: Good day for the Government internship scheme as Joan Burton thanks IBM for its support of it while an educator says that JobBridge should actually be expanded.
