Three due in court over Co Cork cannabis cultivation

A large number of cannabis plants were discovered by Gardaí at an industrial premises in Youghal earlier this week.

THREE MEN ARE due to appear before Carrick-on-Suir District Court this morning, charged in connection with the discovery of a cannabis cultivation operation in Co Cork.

Gardaí uncovered the operation at an industrial premises at Springfield, Youghal, earlier this week. A large number of cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €500,000 was seized.

Three Asian men, one aged in his 20s and two in their 30s, were arrested at the scene and brought to Midleton and Cobh Garda Stations under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

A female who was later arrested remains in custody in Mallow today, and a fourth man has been released without charge.
