GARDAÍ HAVE CONFIRMED a fourth death following a three-vehicle collision in Co Monaghan last night, RTÉ reports.

Gardaí say that two 27-year-old men who were passengers in one of the cars were killed in the collision, and a woman, 39, died in the early hours of this morning.

The woman was five months pregnant and despite efforts by medical services, the child also died. The woman was a passenger in one of the other vehicles.

Two people remain seriously injured following the crash, and the occupants of the third car involved in the incident were treated for minor injuries.
