THE CLASSIC TIME Out bar was a staple of many a school lunch around Ireland back in the day – but times are changing.
A spokesperson for Cadbury Ireland has confirmed to DailyEdge.ie that the classic Time Out has now been fully replaced by a brand new bar.
The main differences between this new bar and the classic Time Out is the size and the chocolate/flake makeup of the interior.
The new one would appear to have a different chocolate to flake ratio and pattern, as well as being much smaller in size.
A discussion on Reddit Ireland this week brought up the new Time Out, and a commenter identified the best thing about the classic version:
The whole point of them, is the thick chocolatey flake in the middle. Without that, it’s nothing special. I tried one of these wafer ones my brother got and was horrified! I hope they keep the original one alongside it.
Sadly, that’s not the case – the old Time Out is no more.
On Twitter, Cadbury explained the reasoning behind the change:
Research shows Cadbury Time Out wasn’t as popular as other bars so instead of discontinuing it, we’ve gave it a helping hand with a few changes!
And say goodbye to the old Time Out.
We’ve had some good times :(
