Police arrest 24-year-old man in connection with Manchester bombing

He is the 17th person to be arrested in connection with the attack in which 22 people died.

POLICE IN MANCHESTER have arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with the suicide bombing at Ariana Grande’s concert almost two weeks ago.

In a statement released this morning, Greater Manchester Police said the man was arrested last night in Rusholme on suspicion of offences contrary to the terrorism act.

He is the 17th person to be arrested in connection with the attack on 22 May at the Manchester Arena in which 22 people died and scores more were injured.

Six of those arrested have been released without charge, while 11 men remain in custody for questioning.

Yesterday, police released new CCTV images of suicide bomber Salman Abedi in a bid to gain more information from the public about his movements before he detonated the bomb.

Grande will play at a star-studded benefit concert, alongside acts including Katy Perry, Coldplay and Take That, in the city tomorrow.
