Man arrested after Rathmines supermarket robbery

The man approached the male cashier, threatened him, and made off with a sum of money from the scene.

GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED a man who threatened a worker and stole money from the register of a Dublin supermarket.

At about 8.50pm yesterday evening a man entered a supermarket on the Upper Rathmines Road in Dublin 6.

The man approached the male cashier, threatened him, and made off with a sum of money from the scene.

The man made off with the money on foot. Nobody was injured in the incident.

Following the robbery, gardaí carried out searches in the local area and arrested a man in his 20s.

The man is currently detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Terenure Garda Station.
