1. #SHOOTING: Gardaí are investigating a shooting in Dublin last night in which a man in his 30s was injured.

2. #WATER: The government has almost finalised new plans for water charges which will mean most households will face a bill of less than €200, the Irish Times reports.

3. #EXPENSES: TDs have claimed an average of €147,000 in expenses and allowances each since the last general election, according to the Irish Independent.

4. #ON THE RUN: This year, 145 prisoners have not returned to jail after being granted temporary release.
