1. #FERGUSON: Riots have broken out in Ferguson after a grand jury chose not to press charges against the police officer who shot 18-year-old Michael Brown.

2. #LET’S GET FISCAL: The Fiscal Advisory Council has criticised the Irish government for failing to make solid financial plans for the country beyond next year.

3. #STAFFING: The number of senior managers in the HSE has increased more than 10% in the last three and a half years, while figures for nurses and other support staff fell, The Irish Times reports.

4. #HAVING A CANARY: Ryanair passengers have complained they were left to fend for themselves after their plane was diverted and they were left on the wrong Canary island.
