Mr Coughlan worked for insurance firm Bupa. He has been described as “wholesome” person who had “the loveliest presence”, with those who knew him speaking at length about his caring and selfless nature.

A fundraiser organised to support his family said his organs were donated in a “lasting gift” to others.

Two boys in their mid-teens have been arrested and charged as part of the ongoing investigation into the incident.

They have since appeared in court in connection with the assault.

Mr Coughlan is survived by his parents John and Brigid, stepmother Sonia, his brothers Philip and Jack, his sister Zara, and his extended friends and family.
