INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION astronaut Terry Virts tweeted this image of a Vulcan hand salute from orbit as a tribute to actor Leonard Nimoy, who died on Friday.
Cape Cod and Boston, Massachusetts, the actor’s home town, are visible through the space station window in the image.
In its own tribute, Nasa had said Nimoy’s Star Trek character Mr Spock served as an inspiration to generations of scientist, engineers and sci-fi fans around the world.
