Bill Gates tops the Forbes rich list - again

The Microsoft founder is still the richest man in America – but who else made the cut?

A LIST OF the richest men and women in the United States has been published by Forbes Magazine, and last year’s champion remains on the top of the pile.

Microsoft founder Bill Gates was substantially ahead of his nearest competitor – by a comfortable $20 billion in net worth.

The top 10 from the list are:

  1. Bill Gates – $59bn (Microsoft)
  2. Warren Buffett – $39bn (Berkshire Hathaway)
  3. Larry Ellison – $33bn (Oracle)
  4. Charles Koch – $25bn (diversified)
  5. David Koch - $25 (diversified)
  6. Christy Walton – $24.5bn (Wal-Mart)
  7. George Soros $22bn (hedge funds)
  8. Sheldon Adelson $21.5bn (Casinos)
  9. Jim Walton – $21.1bn (Wal-Mart)
  10. Alice Walton – $20.9bn (Mal-Mart)
