Appeal for witnesses following a fatal road collision where a woman was killed

The incident took place at about 6.10pm yesterday evening at Curry, Kenagh, Longford on the main Longford to Athlone Road.

THE GARDAÍ ARE appealing for anyone who may have witnessed a road accident yesterday in Longford where a woman was killed.

They said that the two vehicle crash happened at about 6.10pm yesterday evening at Curry, Kenagh, Longford on the main Longford to Athlone Road.

A woman in her late 20s, who was the driver and only occupant of a car, was fatally injured in the collision.

The other vehicle, a 4×4 truck, had three males in the vehicle, aged 47, 46 and 38- years-old. They were also injured and taken to  Mullingar Regional Hospital for treatment but there injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

They are urging anyone who may have seen the accident or been on the Longford to Kenagh Road between 5.50pm and 6.30pm to contact them in Longford on 043 3350570, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
